Goodbye Tonsils--Hello ice cream!!!

Kelsey had her tonsillectomy today and she did great! She has been pretty nervous about it for the past few weeks, but she was very brave today. She and Jason had to be at the hospital by 6:15 a.m. and her tonsils were out by 8:00 a.m. She had to stay at the hospital until about 1:30 p.m. while they made sure she could eat and drink before they would send her home. She got to have Sprite, soup, chocolate milk and pudding while she was there. They also gave her a coloring book with crayons and a teddy bear. Pretty lucky girl!

Yesterday, I took her to Wal-mart and let her pick out ice cream, yogurt, smoothies, soup, juice, and popsicles to eat over the next week or two. She had a lot of fun doing that! In fact, she actually seemed excited about getting her tonsils out after our little shopping trip. We also let her choose whatever she wanted for dinner last night since it was her last "real" meal for a while. She chose Chinese food--orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, and fried rice. Yum! We hope she will recover quickly without a lot of pain. We are so proud of her for being so brave today!!!

Hi Kelsey, we are so glad that you did so good having tonsils out, just don't try to eat potato chips.
That will not feel so good. Get better soon.
Love you lots Grandma,
