Finished...sort of!!!

Well, the repairs on our house from the washing machine fiasco are finally finished! The ceiling is pretty with no water spots, the carpet is back down and cleaned, and the vinyl is taupe instead of cream, but it works. We are so glad to be done with that mess. It certainly added a whole other layer of craziness to our already crazy lives! And then we added some more craziness. After they finished the ceiling, the painter's tape that's not supposed to take paint off, took the paint off the top of our walls in our kitchen and living room. It wasn't a great surprise to us because the paint that was used in our house is TERRIBLE. If you touch it just right, it leaves a mark! Anyway, the ceiling looked great, but our walls looked worse than ever (those of you who have seen our walls know what I'm talking about...), so when we got home from the hotel on Saturday, we decided it was time to paint. This is something we have wanted and needed to do for quite some time, and since all the stuff was off the walls already, we decided it was the ideal time to do it. It is amazing what a little bit of paint can do! Our kitchen and living room no longer have flat white walls, they are now a warm and inviting brown--chocolate cheesecake to be exact. We love it! The paint job is not perfect, but for amateurs, I think we did pretty good. We still have to touch up a few things and put the stuff back up on the walls, but then hopefully we will be done and things can get back to normal--whatever that is!!! Will our lives EVER be normal?!?
