Parker has had an awesome year in 1st grade this year. We are so proud of him and how hard he has worked to be ready for 2nd grade. Today he and his classmates got to walk the red carpet and receive a special award just for them from their teacher, Miss Nelson.
Parker received the "Lifesavers Award" for always working hard to help others (and his teacher) in class.
Miss Nelson really complimented him on what a great helper he was to the other students, especially when they were having a hard time understanding something. Way to go, Parker!
Each of the students made name-bows with their families to decorate the hallway for the class party. This is Parker's:

After the awards ceremony, the parents and students ate lunch together in the classroom. Miss Nelson had also put out a bunch of silly things for the kids to wear for the photo booth.
Parker is very excited for school to be out for the summer but he is also looking forward to moving on to 2nd grade!
