On July 6th our family was invited to Lanie's Backyard BBQ, a weekly feature on the Wednesday evening news segment of WXII 12. Don Timmons of Make-A-Wish Central and Western NC Chapter and several other Make-A-Wish families were also invited to attend to help promote The Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions and strives to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
The BBQ ended up in the lobby of WXII instead of outside because of the weather, but it was still a lot of fun and the food was delicious! We really enjoyed being on the news (even though Parker was a little camera shy...) and we were happy to share our incredible experience with others in the hopes that it will inspire donations and volunteers for The Make-A-Wish Foundation. We will be forever grateful to Make-A-Wish for making Parker's wish come true and we will never forget the service that we received from all those involved.
