Six months ago, Parker made a wish to "ride a choo train". With the help of The Make-a-Wish Foundation, Hanesbrands, and Give Kids the World, his wish was granted. Here is a small glimpse of his experience on a real train.
As we mentioned in the previous post, Parker was not feeling well on the day we left, so he spent most of the trip sleeping. But miraculously, he did start to feel better just a few hours before our scheduled arrival in Florida, so he did get to enjoy being on the train and watching out the window for a short while as we sped down the tracks.
We did manage to get a few pictures after getting off of the train in Florida.
On our way back to North Carolina, Parker had a much better experience on the train. He enjoyed waiting at the train station in Kissimmee, Florida for The Sliver Star to arrive and pick us up.
As soon as we boarded the train and put our things away, we headed to the dining car for dinner. Parker LOVED eating a cheese sandwich as the train continued to speed along the tracks.
After dinner, we were all ready for bed. Parker, Kelsey and Jen stayed in one room and Jason and Connor stayed in another room down the hall. Parker went to sleep almost immediately and slept soundly until it was time to get up for breakfast. After we were finished with breakfast, we only had a little over an hour until our arrival in Raleigh, North Carolina. Parker put on his train conductor outfit and shouted, "All Aboard!!!

Parker really LOVED riding on the train. It was a wonderful experience for him and it actually was a nice way to travel. It was definitely a memorable and unique way to begin and end Parker's wish trip.
