We recently changed Parker's nursing care services to a new company and so I have spent the last 2 weeks "training" 5 different nurses to take care of Parker. We are hoping with this new company that we will be able to take advantage of our 12 hours of respite time each month. The main reason we switched to a new company was because our old company couldn't provide nurses for Parker when we requested to use our respite time. It was very frustrating to plan a date, look forward to it for weeks, and then have to cancel our plans because they couldn't find a nurse for us. I don't know if it will be better with this company, but the fact that there are already 5 nurses that are trained and familiar with Parker gives us a lot more hope. Parker has been so good about having so many different people come in and take care of him. I continue to be amazed by his easy-going and laid back attitude. He even seems to understand why they are here. They have all been very different--but they are all good nurses with the same desire to take the best care of Parker, and that's all that we want. He has gotten along great with each of them and they have all left saying how much fun they had and that they hoped to come back soon. Parker always blows them kisses as he says goodbye, which they all think is absolutely adorable. 3 of the 5 will be our regular nurses that come each week. So far, we're happy with the transition and hope that things continue to go well.

Okay, so if you all want to double date, now we can?!?!?! Call ANYtime and we'll for sure do it. (Unless you just want the two of you, which is completely understandable!)
