The Lazy 5 Ranch

Grandma and Grandpa Wardle came to stay with us recently so they could be here to help us take care of Kelsey and Connor while Parker had his heart catheterization. They were able to stay for about 10 days--we always love to have our family come to visit! We were able to do some fun things while they were here and one of the highlights was going to The Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, NC. The Lazy 5 Ranch is a privately owned exotic animal drive thru park with over 750 animals from six different continents. It is truly a unique experience from the minute you drive through the gate... We were greeted by ostriches, emus, and lamas. The animals, who obviously are very comfortable with people and cars, walk right up to your windows, looking for food (you can buy a bucket of food to feed them)--or maybe they're just saying "Hello". I'm not sure what we were expecting, but I have to say that I was very grateful to have the van in between me and the animals!!! Besides the animals I already mentioned we also saw giraffe, water buffalo, cattle, zebras, deer and a rhinoceros. There were several other animals, but I honestly don't know what they were. After the drive thru safari, we walked around the beautifully landscaped exhibits that had all sorts of tropical birds, ring-tailed lemurs, ducks, chickens, and HUGE goldfish that swam in a lily pond just to name a few. It was a very fun and unique experience that we all enjoyed. It was well worth the hour drive--definitely a place we would recommend and visit again. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Wardle for taking us there!

Wow those animals are up in your windows and they look like they want to jump in the Honda Van too. We are glad that you are having fun adventures this summer. We love and miss you all
