The Cub Scout Pinewood Derby for Connor's pack was held on Saturday, March 16th. Several weeks before then, Connor checked out a book from our local library all about how to make a Pinewood Derby car. He used a few of the tricks the book suggested, hoping to have a winning car this year.
This is Jason's car (he's the Cubmaster of Conner's pack). He and Parker worked on it together. It was supposed to lose every race it competed in (on purpose...). Most of the races it didn't even make it to the finish line! We had to warn Parker ahead of time that "his" car was supposed to lose, so he wouldn't be disappointed :)
Connor's car took 2nd place! He was pretty excited about that. He and his friend, Nathan, got to go to the District Pinewood Derby yesterday. Unfortunately, they didn't win any races, but it was still cool for him to be there and participate. Great job, Connor!

Last month, Connor earned his Wolf in Cub Scouts. He worked hard all year to earn it before he turned 9. He also earned 2 Arrow Points--one gold and one silver. Connor has loved being in Cub Scouts. He has really enjoyed learning new things and spending time with his friends and with Jason. He's looking forward to working on earning his Bear this year.
