Last Friday Parker had the unique opportunity to make a wish courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina. Two wish granters came by to meet Parker and visit with our family and they came bearing gifts for the kids--several stuffed animals, books, and hot wheels cars. After they had given out all the gifts, they immediately asked Parker, "If you could have one wish, what would it be?" It took him several seconds to answer, but Parker eventually said, "Ride a choo train!" The wish granters were very excited about his wish and proceeded to talk about a possible destination for the train ride--Parker didn't seem concerned where the train ended up, just as long as he gets to ride it! After a few minutes and a couple different ideas, Walt Disney World in Florida seemed like a great place to go! Parker made sure to invite each of us to ride the train too by asking, "Daddy come too?", "Mommy come too?" "Connor come too?", "Kelsey come too?" The wish granters asked if they could come and he nodded his head enthusiastically :) We don't have any specific information yet, but as long as the wish is approved by the foundation and Parker's doctor, we will possibly be riding a train to Florida sometime in the next few months. We are so excited for Parker and grateful for this wonderful opportunity for him. It seems perfect that he wished to go somewhere because Parker LOVES to go places and he is always asking if he can come too. He is already practicing saying, "ALL ABOARD!"
