Puttin' on the Pounds!

Today I took Parker to his pediatrician for a weight check. With his new diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypertension, we have to keep a close eye on his growth; he is in the less than 3% on the growth charts, which pretty much means most kids his age are a whole lot bigger than he is. Parker has stayed right around 17 pounds since he was 9 months old (he is almost 14 months old now). Obviously, he has had some major issues in the last 4 months that have not helped him with his weight (ie. 36 days in the hospital...), but he has finally started to REALLY eat and he finally gained some weight! Today he weighed 17 pounds 8.1 ounces which is the most he has ever weighed. He gained 9 ounces in 2 weeks, so that is fantastic for Parker. We are so happy that he seems to be enjoying eating now (he pretty much can eat whatever he wants as long as it has a lot of fat and calories--isn't he lucky?) So far, he likes macaroni and cheese, PB&J sandwiches, chicken nuggets from McDonalds, and pizza--sounds like a pretty normal kid, right? We hope he continues to do well and put on the pounds!
